According to the FDA, Rosemead, California-based 123herbals has recalled all lots of its Vail-Bon Jie Yang Wan capsules out of concern that the products contain undeclared dexamethasone and chlorpheniramine.
Announced by the company on September 18, 2024, the company said it initiated the voluntary, nationwide recall to account for the unexpected drug ingredients, which renders the Vail Bon Jie Yang Wan capsules a new and unauthorized drug. As such, the product’s safety and efficacy are not established and therefore is being recalled.
Indicated for the treatment of eczema, itches, and other skin conditions or diseases, Vail-Bon Jie Yang Capsules come in 30-count plastic bottles and were distributed across the U.S. via 123herbals.com and as well as through Amazon and other online retailers. All lot numbers and expiration dates of the product are recalled.
Since the recall announcement, all distributors and customers of 123Herbals have been alerted by email and encouraged to arrange for a return of any potentially impacted item. Anyone who may still be in possession of Vail-Bon Jie Yang Wan is asked to cease all use of the product and send it back to the point of purchase.
