FDA Warns – Multiple 6oz packages of Tetas Mireya popsicles recalled by DIBE LLC due to undeclared allergens

Miami, Florida-based DIBE LLC has announced a recall of its 6-ounce packages of Tetas Mireya brand food popsicles in Sabor Nutella, Toddy, Ferrero, Galleta Maria, and Galleta Oreo because the products may contain a number of allergens not disclosed on packaging, reports the FDA.

Consumers are advised of specific allergens in the following products:

  • Tetas Mireya Sabor Nutella: undeclared soy
  • Tetas Mireya Sabor Toddy: undeclared soy
  • Tetas Mireya Sabor Ferrero: undeclared soy, walnuts
  • Tetas Mireya Sabor Galleta Oreo: undeclared soy, wheat
  • Tetas Mireya Sabor Galleta Maria: undeclared soy, wheat

Individuals with allergies or sensitivities to the above allergens could suffer a major or life-threatening allergic reaction upon ingesting the affected products.

Distributed to retail stores, including the Sedanos Supermarket chain, within the Florida state, the product comes in a 6-ounce, clear plastic package with the “Tetas Mireya” lettering prominently at the top. The associated expiration date, 10/31/2023, can also be found stamped on the top of the packaging.

The recall, initiated by DIBE LLC on May 22, 2023, comes after a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services supervisor at an Orlando, Florida retail store, Pastelitos Chips, noted that the products contain soy, wheat, and walnut–allergens not declared on the packaging’s ingredient list. A follow-up investigation found that a temporary disruption in the company’s production protocols resulted in the issue.

Since the discovery, the company has suspended all production of the product as it works with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to ensure the problem is solved.

Anyone who may have bought one or more 6 ounce packages of Tetas Mireya Sabor Nutella, Toddy, Ferrero, Galleta Maria, and/or Galleta Oreo is asked to take the item(s) back to the point of purchase to received a total refund.

Recall-related questions can be directed to the company at 786-451-6165, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
