FDA Warns – Motivate Me Ashley LLC recalls VidaSlim supplements after FDA testing detects toxic yellow oleander

After FDA testing detected yellow oleander in their supplement line, Motivate Me Ashley, LLC, of San Antonio recalled multiple varieties of their VidaSlim product. According to the FDA, the company announced the recall on December 13, 2024.

All of the weight loss supplements recalled have a “best by” date between December 2024 and December 2025. The company distributed the recalled products through their website, www.vidaslim.com, and through independent sales representatives. The products included in the recall include the following:

  • VidaSlim 90-day Original Root and 30-day Original Root (green label)
  • VidaSlim 90-day Root Capsules and 30-day Root Capsules (orange label)
  • VidaSlim 90-day Root Plus and 30-day Root Plus (blue label)
  • VidaSlim Hot Body Brew (in peach and strawberry flavors; black pouch)
  • VidaSlim 7-day Sample Pouches for Original Root, Root Plus, and Root Capsules (silver pouch)

Customers can find the “Best By” date for their product on the bottom of the bottle. For pouches, the “Best by” dates are printed on the backs of the packages.

Motivate Me Ashley had not received any reports thus far of injury or illness connected to their VidaSlim products. Routine FDA testing revealed the presence of yellow oleander in the recalled products. According to the FDA, ingestion of yellow oleander can impact multiple body systems, leading to “neurological, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular” problems. The FDA cites potential symptoms that “include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, abdominal pain, heart changes, arrhythmia, and more.” In extreme cases, consumption of yellow oleander can cause death.

Motivate Me Ashley encourages all customers who purchased a VidaSlim product to check the recall list and determine if the expiration date falls between December 2024 and December 2025. Consumers should return all recalled products to the point of purchase for a full refund.

Anyone with questions or concerns about the recall can contact VidaSlim Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (210) 334-0664. Alternately, the company can be reached by email at customerservice@vidaslim.com.
