Reser’s Fine Foods, headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, has recalled its 48-ounce (3-pound) containers of Hill Country Fare Mustard Potato Salad under “Use By” date “JUL/26/24” because the product may contain hard plastic foreign material, reports the FDA.
Initiated by the company on July 2, 2024, and announced on the FDA site on July 9, 2024, the voluntary recall covers Hill Country Fare Mustard Potato Salads that were produced at a regional facility but were made available for purchase only in Texas, at H-E-B and Joe V’s Smart Shop stores.
Photos featured on the recall page indicate that the finished, refrigerated product comes in a clear plastic container and is enclosed by a plastic white lid.
The July 9, 2024 communication does not elaborate how the foreign matter may have been introduced into the production line, but officials said they took action out of an abundance of caution.
Since the announcement, all retail partners have been asked to remove affected products from store shelves. While Reser’s Fine Foods has not received any reports of illness or other adverse events related to the issue, customers are encouraged to either return any recalled items to the point of purchase for a complete refund, or dispose of them.
Further recall-related concerns and consumer inquiries may be directed to the company at 888-223-2127. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
