FDA warns – Asian Sesame Salad with Chicken Recalled by Wegmans Food Markets Due to Potential Presence of Egg

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Buffalo, New York-based Wegmans Food Markets has recalled its Large Asian Sesame Salad with Chicken and Asian Peanut Dressing because the product may contain egg, an undeclared allergen.

Initiated on November 8, 2024, the recall covers any product under the above name with a Universal Product Code (UPC) that starts with the digits 2-27306. The affected items were packed between November 5, 2024 and November 8, 2024, with labels indicating “Sell by” dates ranging from November 7, 2024 to November 10, 2024.

The refrigerated product’s plain white label, featuring simple black text, can be referenced in the FDA announcement. While the label prominently features the Nutrition Facts, a lengthy ingredient list, and a number of allergens that include peanuts, soy, and tree nuts, egg is not identified.

Consumers who live with an egg allergy and who may have purchased a recalled product are asked to refrain from consuming the product to avoid a reaction. For a complete refund, any affected product may be taken back to any Wegmans store where it was purchased.

Those seeking further information about the recalled Asian Sesame Salad with Chicken & Asian Dressing may call Wegmans Food Markets at 1-855-934-3663, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Representatives can also be reached on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
