According to the FDA, Apple Valley, Minnesota-based Abdallah Candies has recalled a production lot (under code 0315) of its 8-ounce Sea Salt Almond Alligators because its packaging bears an incorrect ingredient label that does not list almond as an allergen.
Individuals who live with an allergy or serious sensitivity to almonds are advised against consuming these products to avoid the risk of a major, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.
Initiated by Abdallah Candies on April 2, 2024, the voluntary recall covers products that were distributed and made available for purchase between March 1, 2024, and March 29, 2024, at specialty retail stores, grocery stores, and other retail venues across the U.S.
As pictured in the product photo included in the FDA announcement, the 8 oz. Abdallah Sea Salt Almond Alligators are packaged in candy boxes with a nutrition and ingredient information label affixed at the bottom. Affected products can be identified by the code 0315 at the bottom-center of the ingredient label.
While the company has not received any reports of related illness to date, anyone who may have purchased the product under the impacted production code is urged to refrain from eating it. The item should be discarded or brought back to the place of purchase.
Consumers should note that no other products produced by the company are impacted by this recall.
