According to the FDA, Doctors Scientific Organica, of Riviera Beach, Florida, has voluntarily recalled three lots of its Burn Boot Camp Afterburn Grass-fed Whey Protein Bars (60 grams) in Triple Chocolate Almond flavor because they may contain traces of foreign material: disposable hairnet, shrink wrap, and parchment paper.
The possible presence of flexible, non-sharp foreign objects put consumers at risk of transient choking, harm to the gastrointestinal system, and other minor injuries.
Initiated by Doctors Scientific Organica on November 28, 2023, the recall covers Burn Boot Camp Afterburn Grass-Fed Whey Protein Bars (60 grams) in Triple Chocolate Almond flavor, under the following lot numbers: 181, 184, and 187. The numbers can be found on the back of each bar’s foil wrap and on the bottom of every cardboard case.
Affected products were distributed via Burn Bootcamp retail locations and the company website to locations across the U.S. Consumers should note that none of the brand’s other products, and no other varieties or flavors of the protein bars, are impacted.
Although the company has not been made aware of any related illnesses or injuries to date, anyone who may have purchased the products under the above lot codes is urged to refrain from consuming it. The item should be taken back to the point of purchase or destroyed and discarded.
Further questions and concerns may be directed to Doctors Scientific Organica’s Customer Support team at 786-749-1221, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
The company continues to cooperate with the FDA during the ongoing recall.
